3rd Modeling Idea: Great Amazon Temple Enviroment

(Below:  Finalize Idea and look.  This is what I am sticking with.)

(Note from Modeler)
Alright so this is my third idea for my demo reel!  The plan was to make a sunken ship in an underwater enviroment and the ship wreck landed on the bottom of the ocean, leading to a sacred temple.

The first few drawings I did on the top were my first attempts and the 2nd box is my final idea.  My AnPro teacher and I discussed about time and if I would be able to do model this on time and came with an idea were I design an underwater theme idea still but not a ship wreck, but a temple of some sort.  So I brain stormed and came up with the Great Amazon Temple.  I am currently doing some finalizing drawing but I will post the final drawing later tomorrow or tonight.

Before and After

(Above:  Character roughly modeled in XSI)
(Below:  Character currently in ZBrush)

Alright so this is my before and after post.  The top image is the modeling I did roughly in XSI then the picture below is the currently being sculpt in ZBrush.  To note for my 3DAM teacher, I don't think I will be able to finish the unwrapping and texturing before the holidays but both subjects will be modeled and ready to be textured.  I will probaly work on it during the holidays or most likely when I return from my Christmas holidays.

Black Smith Rough progression

It is really bad modeling example but I am planning to roughly model it then take it into ZBrush for the final details.  I will show more work later in the future.  My milestone is to have my Iron Maiden Arcade to be unwrapped and textured, then have the black smith have modeled only.  I plan to do the texturing either during the holidays or after.

ZBrush Iron Maiden detail

Only photo I have for what the Iron Maiden looks like.

geoMulcor

Didn't like how this turned out but its better than nothing so here you go.  The weighting was a pain in the ass and file kept on crashing but figured it out minutes before we had to hand it in.

Iron Maiden Arcade 3D Modeling Process

Note from the modeler:  Here are some of work in progress on my Iron Maiden Arcade.  These print screen shots show the basic shapes of the Iron Maiden and the Arcade.  At the moment, I am modeling the organic face using rotoscopes to get basic shape of the head.  I don't know how to attach the doors to the Iron Maiden so it can open and close but I did 3D Model hinges so the doors can merge with the hinges.

Black Smith Woman Concept drawn by Eric Buterman

Note:  Alright so with one model done with final concepts and starting to 3D Model, it was time to start with a 2nd Model idea.  I am hoping to with all 4 models, I want to have: A prop, an enviroment/level, Female character, and male character.  My second idea was for the female character a Black Smith.  Before I came with this idea, I thought to myself, "What is an occupation that you rarely or never see a women do?"  So it came to Black Smith.  For more info on the Black Smith Women, I have posted a rough rough bio of her below:

NAME

What is your character’s full name?
Alkaia Armsmith

What reason did you name the character this?

Historically, Amazons were portrayed as beautiful women in Amazonomachies, which was an artform showing battles between the Amazons and Greeks. Amazons were trained to use all weapons and especially in single combat. They were honorable, courageous, brave and represented rebellion against sexism. Their tales spread quickly and soon stories of the Amazons were everywhere, including Africa, Asia, Europe, South America (the Amazon River was named after the female warriors), and North America in the mid-1900s with the comic book hero, Wonder Woman.

Does the name have a meaning?
Alkaia was one of Queen Andromache's Amazon generals. Her name means, "Mighty One."

Concept Artwork were originally designed by Eric Buterman

(Above)  All concept artwork of my Iron Maiden Arcade for my Demo Reel.

Notes:  I wanted to think of original idea's for my demo reel and so with 4 models to design, I thought I would do a prop as my first model.  Originally I was going to stick with the Iron Maiden by itself but was suggested by my Anpro teacher that the Iron Maiden should be something besides a torture device.  Ideas were thrown around:  Out house, fridge, freezer, mini bar with booze etc.  Until I thought: "Hey, how about an arcade? "  And as result, I wanted to put a bit of my personality into my prop model and so as a gamer and love creepy art, my results were my Iron Maiden Arcade.
